The winter

What we arrange

A private chalet

A log chalet at the foot of the fells, with its own sauna, a fireplace, and the slopes a few minutes away.

Glass-roofed suites

A bed under a glass sky, to watch for the northern lights without leaving the warmth.

Husky safaris

A team of huskies and a guide through the silent forest, for an hour or a whole day.

Reindeer by sleigh

A sleigh ride behind reindeer, then lunch by the fire in a Lapland hut.

Sauna and ice

The wood-fired sauna, then a roll in the snow or a dip through the ice, as the Finns do.

Christmas in Rovaniemi

Santa's home town on the Arctic Circle: a private visit for the children, the markets, the lights.

FAQ

Before you ask

December for Christmas and the blue polar light, January and February for deep snow and the northern lights, March for long bright days on the slopes.

No one can promise them, but Lapland has them on about 200 nights a year. Clear skies matter most: your guide follows the forecast, and a glass-roofed suite lets you watch from bed.

Usually −5 to −20 °C in midwinter, sometimes colder. The chalets are warm; outside, good layers make all the difference, and we can have Arctic clothing waiting in your sizes.

Very: Santa's home town, huskies, reindeer and the snow itself. Some safaris have age limits; we choose the ones that suit your family.

Finland is in the Schengen area. UAE nationals visit without a visa for up to 90 days; other passports may need a Schengen visa, and we tell you what to prepare.

Emirates flies daily from Dubai to Helsinki, then it is about an hour and twenty minutes on to Rovaniemi, Kittilä or Ivalo. Or fly direct by private jet; we arrange the cars at both ends.

Yes. Your chef cooks to your wishes, halal included.

As early as you can: the Christmas and New Year weeks are the first to go.
